From June 8-10 2018, I showed an installation on the Shaky Grounds festival in Groningen. The festival was dedicated to ‘de Ploeg’ an artist group that was formed in Groningen a 100 years ago.
Confessions of a quiet landscape is an interactive installation, that will tell a “story” by turning the wheel.
Members of the Ploeg started to look at the surrounding landscape and painted that landscape in the open air. For this project, I was inspired by that. I took samples from the Groninger landscape and made inks out of the plants and algae from 7 specific spots in the Groninger province. I chose the spots because of their connection with the Ploeg or because they are special because of their flora.
Special thanks to Lucjia Gregov for the beautiful music.
